Archaeological Report 5
World Heritage area's central part and Grebbestad
2000

This report is one of many results of a large collaborative project between the Western Gotland and Østfold County Authority. The project "Interreg II - Petroglyphs in Frontier Village Community" was carried out during the years 1996 to 1999.

Report 5 was the second report of Torsten's Högberg materials. Torsten got himself never see the report in the press, at the age of 84 and after a short illness, he died in April 1999. He had before his death also issued two custom reports with petroglyphs from Tanum Pour photos Aspeberget and pour Pictures of Kalleby (1998).

Most of the material in the report is never published and has not been available for either research or other stakeholders. "It is an old truth that an image, no matter how good, can not be offset by a site visit, but it is also a truth that the visit easier if you have access to good documentation once it is in place." And for all who are interested in petroglyphs, scientists and other stakeholders, it is published documentations of inestimable value. Those who have the opportunity to do field studies on all petroglyphs in a parish are few.
